Engine: Two General Electric J85's of 2,400 lbs. thrust each. Top Speed: 485 mph. Span: 35 ft. 10 in. Range: 270 miles with 3,000 lb. load. Length: 29 ft. 4 in. Ceiling: 36,000 ft. Height: 8 ft. 2 in. The YA-37A was a modified T-37B trainer used to evaluate the design as a counter-insurgency attack reconnaissance aircraft. YA-37A at AF Museum, W-PAFB, Ohio, was first retired in 1964, but returned to service in 1966 for design testing of A-37 attack aircraft needed for ground support in SE Asia. It was retired again in 1970
