Only two years have elapsed since the ranch shown in this picture was in sagebrush. Originally a homestead, the owner. Mr. Hopper, has disposed of a portion of this land at over $300 an acre. He has refused many offers of $25,000 for the remaining portion. Many other instances are scarcely less remarkable in the fruit district of the Emmett Valley. While Emmett has not been extensively advertised, the opportunity for permanent settlers, either with or without means, is unprecedented. Fortunes have been accumulated in a few years by settlers who came here comparatively poor. |
