Prewar airview of last exposition held in 1940. IPE plant now being improved and enlarged for more than 800 exhibits costing $50,000,000.00 and anticipated attendance of 200,000. Demonstrations of wartime and post-war progress of petroleum machinery methods, processes and equipment for exploration, drilling, production, transportation, refining and marketing divisions of theoil industry. Enlarged Hall of Science, with world's most complete collection of technical and scientific exhibits, adjoins Exposition grounds. Established in 1923, with only 27 exhibits and 14,000 attendance, IPE commemorates its 25th year of service to more than 34,000 individual concerns of all sizes and 1,250,000 people who make their living in the progressive petroleum industry
