Shushan Airport, America's finest combined
land and seaplane base, is located on an arti-
ficial peninsula jutting out into Lake Pont-
chartrain, only six miles northeast by air
from the heart of New Orleans. Its four
asphalt runways, each extending over 3,000
feet in length, permit traffic in eight directions.
The seaplane ramp at the east end of the field
affords facilities for this type of aircraft. The
Airport cost over $4,500,000, is fully equipped
and has the A-T-A rating of the Department of
Commerce.
