HOTEL TEMECULA
Temecula, California
Temecula (Indian for rising sun) was founded in
1882 and was a trading post for residents of the
falley. This is Indian country, the Temeculas
were not part of seven tribes of San Jacinto and
were more war-like. This hotel was built by the
Weltys in 1891 after a fire destroyed the
original on Jan. 3, 1891. Functions carried on
were post office, school, funerals, weddings,
store, dances, and town meetings. For a time
the hotel was known as Hotel Fronie. The
Parker family purchased the twenty four room
hotel in Dec. of 1960. The hotel is restored
with its original Victorian glory ... M.P.
