The Calvin Coolidge Memorial Bridge, which
was dedicated on October 12, 1939, is some
1440 feet long, and with a road width of 40
feet, and a 10 foot sidewalk, Cost
proved structure serves two purposes. It acts
as a protection from the numerous Connecticut
River floods and a fitting tribute to Northamp-ng
ton's first citizen, Calvin Coolidge.
