The greatest magnet for the visitor on the Newport waterfront
seems to be the area of Bannister's and Bowen's wharfs with
superb restaurants such as The Clarke Cooke House (shown
here), plus The Black Pearl, The Chart House, and many fasci-
nating gift shops restored or rebuilt from the original wharfside
buildings of the 1700's.
