Saskatchewan's Largest Thermal Power Stations
The Boundary Dam Power Station (top) and the
Queen Elizabeth Power Station are Saskatchewan's
largest thermal power stations. Boundry Dam
situated in the centre of the vast Estevan coal S
fields, has a generating capacity of 432,000 kilowatts
and is being enlarged to increase its capacity to
582,000 kilowatts.
The Queen Elizabeth Power Station (bottom) in
Saskatoon is a multi-fuel thermal station, capable
of using coal, natural gas or oil for generating
electrical energy. This station is also being expanded
to increase its generating capacity to 232,000 kilo-
watts.
