BILL BASS PHOTOGRAPHER
Bill Bass, practically the first white child born
at the Grand Canyon, moved to Wickenburg in
1916. Later he returned to Grand Canyon for
nine years, as tourist guide. In 1946 he built
La Siesta Motel where he has since given colored
slide lectures nightly. His first published pictures
appeared in Arizona Highways Magazine of January
1950. He is known as Arizona's one-man Chamber
of Commerce. His photography first appeared
February 13, 1968 on television as a Bill Burrud
production entitled American West.
