Hoover Dam and Lake Mead as seen from the high
cliffs on the Nevada side of Black Canyon. In the
immediate foreground is the 'Nevada Observation Point
from which thousands of visitors, each year, view this
giant Bureau of Reclamation structure. In this photo
the 150-ton cableway is shown in operation. By means
of the cableway loaded freight cars are lowered from
the canyon wall to the level of the power-plant-600
feet below.
