LW-4-THE "ROOKERY," BUILT IN 1834
The oldest building at Fort Leavenworth,
the "Rookery", is presently used for officers
quarters. Floor joists and partitions are of hand-
hewn logs. The first Kansas Territorial Govere,
Andrew J. Reeder, lived in this building, in 1854
