WHICH WAS RAISED BY EDWARD EVERETT-IT IS NOW RESTOR-
ED AS NEARLY AS POSSIBLE TO ITS FORMER APPEARANCE.
GEORGE WASHINGTON-THE FATHER OF HIS COUNTRY
WAS BORN AT BRIDGES CREEK WESTMORELAND COUNTY
VA. FEB 22, 1732. SERVED IN ARMY FIGHTING INDIANS AND
FRENCH FROM 1750 TO 1760-WAS A MEMBER OF FIRST
CONTINENTAL CONGRESS-ON JUNE 15, 1775 CONGRESS
APPOINTED HIM COMMANDER IN CHIEF OF THE CONTINENTAL
ARMY TOOK COMMAND JULY 3RD 1775-ON APRIL 30,1789
HE WAS INAUGURATED 1ST PRESIDENT OF THE U.S. AND
AGAIN IN 1793-DIED AT MOUNT VERNON DEC. 14, 1799
