UNION PASSENGER STATION, ALBANY,
N. Y. Albany has a large commerce from its position at
the head of navigation on the Hudson River, as the terminus
of the great Erie Canal from Buffalo and the Great Lakes,
and the Champlain Canal from the north. Five great rail-
roads converge at its palatial Union Passenger Station. On
the Hudson River, with headquarters at Albany, are the
largest river boats of the world, running daily and nightly
between Albany and New York City. Altogether Albany is
one of the busiest commercial centers of the country. 226.
