HARPER'S FERRY, WEST VIRGINIA
WHERE THREE STATES MEET
One of the most picturesque spots in this locality is
Harper's Ferry, often termed the "Switzerland of America."
Steep wooded mountains surround the town, and the
waters of the Potomac and the Shenandoah Rivers divide
Maryland, West Virginia and Virginia at this point
Historically important because it was the scene of John
Brown's Raid, which did much to precipitate the Civil War.
