The Kaka Parrot
Native names: "Kaka", "Kakakura", etc.
Colours vary according to districts. Some have
been seen a brilliant canary yellow, while others
are olive green and brown. The first morning
bush call is the Kaka's. Eats mostly insects and
grubs, honey and berries, and likes Kowhai,
Honeysuckle and especially Rata. Easily tamed.
