American champion of aviation, and has been
designing aeroplanes and engines for several years.
His machine is a curious mixture of the typical
American and French machines, but one of its
principal features is its extremely light weight.
At Rheims he had the good fortune to win the
Gordon-Bennett Cup with its accompanying £1,000.
