FLOOD OF 1993
The Minnesota and Mississippi Rivers which flow together at
St. Paul, pushed the Mississippi to a crest of 6 feet over flood
stage on June 27th, 1993. Heavy spring and summer rains
throughout Minnesota's croplands created this "latest ever"
spring flood.
Harriet Island, shown here under water, is normally high and
dry on the south side of the river across from the downtown
08969255
area.
