R.S. CHATFIELD, of Madison Lodge, No. 87, of Madison,
Conn., who was Drowned, Oct. 10, 1877, in Long Island
Sound, aged 34, (Certificate No. 1,121). Also of Bro. GEO.
R. THOMPSON, of Dawson Lodge, No. 16, of Washington,
D. C., who died at Washington, Oct. 20, 1877, of Embolism,
aged 42.
The Assessment of Two Dollars and Twenty Cents, as
provided by the laws of this Association, is now due from
you, and must be paid to the Secretary within FIFTEEN
DAYS from the date of this Notice, under the penalty
provided by said laws.

EXTRACTS FROM BY-LAWS---Article VI.
SEC. 2. Upon the death of a member, each surviving member shall be assessed One Dollar and Ten Cents.
The above notice shall be deemed a legal notice for the payment of the assessment so called for, and any member
failing to pay said assessment within the time named in his notice, shall forfeit his membership in the Association,
and all the benefits thereof.
