ADORNING A BRIDE.
In the preparations for a wedding, adorning the bride is of
great importance. Clothed in the richest possible garments
she is loaded with jewels. Hands and nails are stained with
henna, and the eyes painted to increase their lustre. In the
background is seen a recess into which the "beds or divans
are placed during the day.-Ps. xlv., 13-14; 2 Kings xi.. 2.
