Site of the signing of the Texas Declaration of Independence
from Mexico on March 2, 1836. Buildings include Indepen-
dence Hall, a replica of building in which Declaration was
signed; home of Anson Jones, last president of the Republic
of Texas, and the Star of The Republic Museum. Only seven
miles West of Navasota. Great historic value to groups of
school children who wish to visit.
