These are Arabs who lead a nomadic life, have no
settled government. A superior sheik or kaid, elected
from one of the families, rules the whole tribe. The
costume consists of a long wide garment, fastened on
the head and descending to the feet, over which is
thrown a large mantle, called a burnoose. Hunting,
dancing, singing etc. form their favorite pastime. The
desert of Arabia, especially the plateau of Nedjid, is
their central place of abode.
