Baffin's Bay. A November Gale. Here is
shewn the steamship Hope (Peary Expedition, 1897),
homeward-bound, exposed to a rough cross-sea in Baf-
fin's Bay. The Hope rescued the survivors of Mr. Leigh
Smith's ill-fated expedition to Franz-Josef Land, and
later on was herself wrecked off the coast of Newfoundland.
