ROTUNDA, OLD ST. LOUIS HOTEL.
The Rotunda of the St. Louis Hotel was at
one time famous all over the country. It was
the meeting place of Planters, Brokers and
Merchants of New Orleans. Buying and selling
was in progress all the time. Slaves as well as
ordinary merchandise were sold at auction in
this rotunda. (See Lipsher card. "Stairway
