ART PUBLISHERS TO THEIR MAJESTIES THE KING AND QUEEN,
THE LINCOLN MONUMENT in Oak Ridge Cemetery
(one mile north of the city) is of gray granite, and was erected
in 1874 at a cost of $300,000. This mausoleum, owned by the
State and open to the public, contains the remains of Abraham
Lincoln (1809-1865), his wife, two children and a grandchild.
The sculptor was Franklin G. Mead.
