THE STADIUM AND CITY COLLEGE,
NEW YORK CITY.
The Stadium, an addition to the City College, located
at Amsterdam Avenue West of 138th St. to 140th St., was
a gift of Mr. Adolph Lewisohn. Completed May 27, 1915.
Cost $200.000, designed by Architect, Mr. Arnold W.
Brunner. In the back ground can be seen the City College,
an imposing group of field stone and terra cotta buildings,
Occupied in 1905, total cost of $4,000,000. Founded in
1847 as Free Academy. Furnishes free tution supported
by the City at annual cost of $615.000.
