SAN ONOFRE NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION
Located on the Pacific Coast five miles south of San
Clemente, California, this station will have a generat-
ing capacity of 450,000 kilowatts-enough power to
supply a city of more than half-million population. The
plant was built by two investor-owned utilities, Southern
California Edison and San Diego Gas & Electric. The
two companies share costs and output of the station-
Edison, 80%, and San Diego Gas & Electric, 20%.
