L.M.S. TURBOMOTIVE NO. 6202.
This notable locomotive is similar in design to the "Princess Royal" Class of the L.M.S. in
respect of the boiler and wheel arrangement, but its method of propulsion is very different. Two
non-condensing turbines are provided, one for forward motion and the other for reverse.
occasion this engine reached a speed of over 90 m.p.h. with a load of 330 tons.
