issippi Valley,” is older than the U. S. being
laid out in 1718 by Bienville, a Frenchman. It
is a picturesque and interesting city due to the
survival of many of the buildings, manners and
customs of its original French and Spanish jos
habitants. Best known, is the colorful and AUG 29
elaborate Mardi Gras Festival.
