BRADLEY HALL houses the marine biological
laboratories of the Institutum Divi Thomae, a
graduate school of scientific research, estab-
lished in 1935 by His Excellency, The Most
Reverend John T. McNicholas, Archbishop of
Cincinnati and Dr. George S. Sperti, its direc-
tor. The purpose is to foster cooperative fun-
damental research in the natural sciences and
investigations leading to the determination of
the basic laws governing natural phenomena.
The major problem at present is cancer re-
search.
