57 Broadway, New York, April 24, 1934 The "Resolute," as reported by radiogram after the usual smooth passage, arrived on time at Kobe and Yokohama, her final ports on the other side of the world. Until April 26th, your friends will be enjoying not only Yokohama but also Tokyo, the great capital, The Kamakura with its world-famous Great Buddha, or Dai Butsu. Many of the passengers have taken advantage of the opportunity to visit Nikko, with its splendid red-lacquered temples and stately cryptomeria trees. Yokohama, or rather near-by Mississippi Bay, was the landing place of the American Commodore Perry when he opened up Japan to the world in 1854 and began teaching the then gentle Japanese our Western ways. They were apt pupils! Honolulu next. Homeward Bound! Hamburg-American Line North German Lloyd
