Empie Kartoon Kards are one of the earliest copyrights for western cartoon postcards. Arizona's native Hal Empie originated these cards during the early 1930's in Duncan, Arizona. Originals are preserved in permanent archives at both the Carnegie Library, NY and in a special collection of Mr. Empie's life and work at the Arizona Historical Foundation. Today he is a well known western painter and the Empie's have the Empie Studio, Tubac, Arizona
