Saint Mary Hall was constructed in 1868-1870 as St. Mary's
Academy and the Mother House of the Sisters of Charity of
Leavenworth. It has been cited by the Kansas State Historical
Society as "one of the best examples of Victorian institutional
interior design in Kansas." Today Saint Mary Hall serves
academic, administrative, and faculty housing needs at Saint
Mary College, a fully-accredited Catholic liberal arts college,
sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth.
