NORTH LIGHT, BLOCK ISLAND, R. I. on the sand dunes
at the north end of the Island. This beacon light is
visible 13 miles and is the mariner's friend. Block Island
is about nine miles offshore and is separated from the
mainland by Block Island Sound.
