THE LIBRARY-COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY. King's College
was founded in 1754 in the Province of New York, by
Royal Charter, in the reign of George II. It was perpetuated
as Columbia College by the people of the State of New York,
and in 1896, became Columbia University. It was moved
to its present site, Morningside Heights, in 1897.
