THE SULPHUR SPRING, located on Hollins Institute
grounds, about 50 yards from the buildings, was discovered
more than 100 years ago in the bed of Carvan's Creek. Its
water has wonderful curative powers, and many prominent
nien, among them President Andrew Jackson and General
Lafayette, have enjoyed it.
