The State Capitol of Indiana is in Indianapolis, its
largest city. Indiana, known as the "Hoosier State," has
an area of 36,350 square miles, and was admitted to the
Union in 1816. The State has the corn as floral emblem.
The name Indiana is derived from the word "Indian" and
was first applied in 1802.
