The Stacks of Duncansbay. Two miles to the east of
John o' Groats' Hotel stands Duncansbay Headland, the
north-eastern extremity of the British Isles, a fine red
bluff two hundred and ten feet high. Nearly a mile south
of the Head stand the Stacks, three sharply pointed rocks
detached from the mainland, knee-deep in flying spray
and crying sea-birds.
