The Scotch Coast, off Anstruther. Anstruther in Fife-
shire is a closely-packed and red-roofed fishing town,
rising directly from the water's edge, with a green and
well-wooded country behind it. It was the birthplace, in
1780, of the Rev. Thomas Chalmers, D.D. Six miles
south-east of it is the Isle of May, whose lighthouse is the
only one in Scotland lighted by electricity.
