Summit of Snowdon. Snowdon is the highest and also
the finest mountain in Wales, and is 3,560 feet above the
sea level. Its ascent is made easy by a railway which runs
nearly to the top, and on the limited area of the very
summit stands a hotel owned by the Harrison Company.
When climatic conditions are favourable, the view obtained
is both magnificent and extensive, and in exceptionally
clear weather the Isle of Man, the outline of the Cumber-
land Mountains, and the Wicklow Mountains in Ireland are
visible.
