(Letter of Appreciation)
Converted Cruiser Shinano Maru
During the month of May in the 38th year of Meiji
(1905) the Converted Cruiser "Shinano Maru was
on guard, watching for the approach of the enemy's
squadron. which she sighted at early dawn on the
27th of that month. The trustworthy and prompt
warning given by her materially benefitted the
strategic measures of the Combined Fleet.
In appreciation of the highly meritorious services
thus rendered this Kanjo is now granted.
