Additional Details:
Completed in 1756, Nassau Hall served at different times as a barracks and hospital for Continental and British troops. It was the scene of the last stand of the British in the Battle of Princeton. In 1776 the first Legislature of the State of New Jersey convened in it. From June to November 1783, the Continental Congress sat there, thanked Washington in person for his conduct of the war, and received news that the Treaty of Peace had been signed. The names of Princeton's was dead from the Revolution onward are inscribed on the marble wall of the Atrium in the center of the building
