ST. GEORGES scene of Bermuda's earliest (1609)
settlement, because of its natural harbour. The
imaginative can almost see the forest of masts and
clouds of white sails: hear the tramp of sea boots
and the shouts of burly seamen in the narrow streets.
This was St. George's, thriving seaport in the days
of WOODEN SHIPS AND IRON MEN.
