North Platte, Nebraska
FORT CODY, built of heavy logs with sentry towers and
"armed guards", is a replica of the fortifications of the
1860 to 1875 era- the days of Buffalo Bill, Indians and
early settlers. Giant murals, "The Life of Buffalo Bill", painted
by the famous Western artist, Gene McConnell, is on ex-
hibition, free to the public, open seven days a week. North
Platte is truly proud to be the home of the old Buffalo Bill
ranch, now a Nebraska State Park.
