Additional Details:
Fray Marcos, the new station hotel at Williams, is built with wide porticos like an old Spanish mission. The construction is reinforced concrete. It is named after Fray Marcos de Niza, concrete. It is named after Fray Marcos de Niza, who in 1539 led an expedition through Arizona in search of the mythical gold. Williams is the gateway to the Grand Canyon, which is 65 miles to the north. Close to the town is Bill Williams Mountain, which rises to a height of 9000 feet, on the summit of which is buried the historic pioneer scout, Bill Williams, who was Fremont's guide.
