than 9,000 tons. Her engines of 17,400 horse-power can drive
her through the water at a speed of 21 knots per hour. Cost,
about $2,985,000. Carries six powerful 8-inch guns and twelve
4-inch guns in addition to rapid-firers of smaller calibre.
