H. M. S. Victory. The most famous ship in the
annals of the British Navy. Launched at Chatham 1765.
She was 2164 tons burden, had a complement of 800 men
and carried 104 guns. She was Nelson's Flagship at the
Battle of Tra algar and on her Quarter Deck the great
Admiral received his death wound. In 1825 she was
made flagship at Portsmouth and since then has been
preserved as a relic of the Wooden Walls of England
and a memento of the glorious past.
