at Chester, Pa. 325 feet long and 48 feet broad, and displaces
considerably more than 5,000 tons. Speed, 18 knots per hour.
Horse-power, 9,000. Cost, about $ 889,000. Her 32 officers
and 445 men handle batteries that include four 8-inch, fourteen
5-inch guns and a goodly array of smaller rapid-firers.
