THE SOLDIERS MONUMENT was erected by the city at
a cost of $ 12,000. The corner stone was laid on Memorial
Day (May 30th), 1889, by the Grand Army of the Republic,
and the monument dedicated Oct 15th, 1889. In the corner
stone is a list of 1,355 names of Nashua's soldiers and sailors
who served in the Rebellion.
