On Nov. 11, 1794, the last general council of the United States with the Iroquois Confederacy was held at Canandaigua. Here the Pickering Treaty was signed, bringing the peace pipe to the Six Nations and the Colonial Government. The Pickering Treaty Monument commemorating this historical event stands on the Court House Lawn. In the Finger Lakes of Central New York.
