Mt. Washington Club, organized to popu-
larize travel to the summit of this moun-
tain, which is the loftiest peak east of the
Rockies and north of the Carolinas, being
6,293 ft. high. The view line from the top
sweeps around a circle of nearly 1,000
miles. It is ascended by the World's First
Cog Railway which has never had a fatal
accident.
